In my last post I mentioned I had 10 days more to go, correct that to 3 instead! It was Daddy’s birthday the day before and it was also a Saturday. So we had a splendid day out with the two boys, starting with their morning swimming lessons and we went out for lunch straight after plus an afternoon of shopping fun. Lunch was enjoyable as boys had great appetites after the swim and I was happy to be given food. Plus it was a beautiful day. It is a sign (chuckled)
I am feeling big. I know I can blame it all those cravings – what is with pregnancy and cravings anyway? I am sure fellow mothers know exactly what I am talking about and even possibly some fathers out there. It is really that LOUD voice and urges that goes off in your head demanding that specific food that you need to have RIGHT AWAY! It can be as simple as some chocolates or some weird combo of pickles with multigrain bread!? Read the rest of this entry »
Still remember in 2007 when New Zealand won the bid to host the next Rugby World Cup and I was thinking to myself another 4 years to wait before we get to express the adrenalin rush and the media extravaganza and before you know it, we are there right now we are experiencing it! The RWC fever is indescribable. The whole nation is up and about preparing for the big event. Â The excitement, the television and media coverage, the infrastructure and of course all the flags erected by buildings, homes and cars on the road are beyond words. Everyone supporting the event wholeheartedly is pumping heaps of positivity for an event that NZ is longing to see as a success.
Few more weeks to go now and I am starting to feel really excited and nervous for labour. Each day my thoughts would wonder without fail trying to imagine how this delivery will be like, how different will it be compared to my previous two. Also very curious to finally meet the baby that I have inside me in person. With the previous deliveries being early and quick from the first to the second, many are telling me to expect an earlier EDD and an even quicker birth. Not to mention that I’ve only had gas for my first deliver and absolutely no pain medication for the second. Everything happens in a flash. Read the rest of this entry »
Is it a boy or a girl? Do you know what you are having? Did you find out yet? Those are the questions I have been getting these days now that there is doubt about me being preggy with this belly I am lugging around. When I was pregnant with my first kid, I was really hoping for a boy. I was quite taken with the idea of a big brother to look after the younger siblings. With Jared being our honeymoon baby, the hubby was also keen to have the first kid being a boy.
Jared my first born turned SEVEN recently, he has developed into a fine young boy that I am amazingly proud of. He enjoys school, sports, swimming and is a terrific big brother to his younger 4yr old brother. He is a typical 7yr old who is full of energy and curiosity. His interests on certain topics and activities are shining out so clearly that mould his personalities into a great kid. He has a great passion for sports and swimming, our recent trip back to Asia gave him many opportunities to use the pool. His eagerness to be a good swimmer is also very obvious. He diligently tries to catch up with Daddy in the pool during their leisure swim and I can see him working very hard in his weekly swimming lessons.
Still remember the day when he learns to walk (or wobble) all by himself and now he is FOUR! My little big wiggles fan was over the moon that he has promoted from 3 yr old to 4 yr old. He made me kept to my words when he brought out all the promises I made with his elephant memory of all the….”oh you can only do this and that when you turned 4, not when you are still 3!” (cheeky little fella). ![]()
The very day he turned four, he started claiming back what I said you could do, eat and behave! Some of my favorite fibs were used on my kids, one that works well (so far) is when they start bugging to buy a certain toy from a store we visited and I’ll show them the sign that shows “for age 8 and up” and told them that they are too young to buy it. The part on “Mummy has not enough money today” can only get me so far on certain days. So now I am paying back big time with Jayden as he is remembering all these toys he wanted and I told him he has to wait till he turns 4 to get them. Sigh looks like we have to avoid these stores for a while to let the heat cool off. Read the rest of this entry »
We recently had 2 weeks of school holiday for our almost 7 years old, and it was actually a pleasant 2 weeks with a very minimal of “I am bored” tune being drum into my ears. It was the wintery break and we had a rather wet and cold 2 weeks, so throwing the kids out in the yard to entertain and burn their energy wasn’t the best option available. I would rather have them tear up the house than to trade it with sick and miserable kids. He had a few highlights lining up these 2 weeks, starting with a 3D movie play date with one of his best mates from school, buying of additional toys to add to his collection, bowling session with Aunt and friends and he even get to visit Snow Planet for the first time and tobogganing with a friend who was having a birthday treat and followed by a birthday party. He has a big itinerary lined up this holiday. We also celebrated the 4yr old birthday at his crèche and Jared gets a visit his old teachers and sees the changes in the centre. [DISCLAIMER: this post was written in a long stretch of weeks more so months, so you may notice the contradictory feel to it as it progresses.]
I have 2 boys currently and a bun in the oven. Having three kids have always been what I wanted even before I was married. Maybe it is because I came from a family of 3, or maybe I think if 2 siblings didn’t get along well, there is always the other one they can get close to. The idea of having number 3 has been brewing for a long time. I had the magic number as 3 kids. My hubby didn’t share the sentiment even though initially when we were getting married we had a consensus about having 3 kids (even though I secretly wanted 4 kids then). With all the summer holiday and festive seasons, December just flew passed so very quickly. How did the Wee household spent these times? We had family from Singapore visiting just before Xmas and it was really great to catch up with them. All the children had a great time playing and having tones of fun. The adults did lots of catching up and good spread of food and wine.
We organized a day trip to Waiheke Island via the Half Moon Bay Ferry with our visitors and spent a beautiful summer day soaking up the sun, embracing the sea and the vineyards. Also made a short trip to Taupo and had a fabulous time in a nice holiday house. We did have a few wet days but it surely didn’t dampen the spirits of everybody there.
And with Christmas, it was spent with the family with lots and lots of presents for everyone. We had our tree up with the blue, silver and gold as the color themes picked by Jared. Under the tree started out very bare as we didn’t get around to start with our shopping into the last week before Christmas. This year we had a lot of outdoor gifts for the kids. We had a Pogo stick, basketball hoop, water slides and lots of other toys and clothing.
We spent a lot of time at home this summer as we were so spoilt with entertainment and activities that occupied our days and night. When the kids are in bed, the adults changed the TV lounge into a cinema like and we had movies premiere every evening with snack of choice and favorite beverages in our hands. It was a splendid summer!
We usher in 2011Â with calm and tranquility, wishing everyone a wonderful and fabulous new year!
